At For the People and Kids, we believe learning should be joyful, creative, and connected to the world around us. Through partnerships with schools, libraries, and local organizations, we bring hands-on educational, cultural, and wellness programs to communities. From nature and art to movement and mindfulness, our experiences inspire curiosity, connection, and a love of learning for all ages.

Winter Program: Monday Excursions
Join us each Monday for a new adventure at some of our region’s most inspiring locations. Every session features hands-on programming designed to connect learners with nature, art, and local history.

- Nov 3 – Caramoor: Stroll through the sunken garden, enjoy a nature-led art project, and gather for lunch in the Education Building.
- Nov 10 – Pinecrest Community Center – Art & Culinary
- Nov 17 – Bedford Audubon: Discover the mysterious world of owls—their calls, behaviors, and habitats.
- Nov 24 – Hippie Feet Tie Dyes Workshops: Create seasonal tie-dyes followed by Music with Dr Mike
- Dec 1 – Merestead: Step back in time as local historian John Rhodes shares stories of the estate’s rich past.
- Dec 8 – Westmoreland Sanctuary: Create your own candle to take home, visit the animals, and enjoy a peaceful walk around the pond.
- Dec 15 – Holiday Art Workshops: Festive tie-dye with Hippie Feet Tie Dyes to celebrate the season

Discover the magic of the outdoors this winter with the Rewilding School! Each session invites learners and parents, to explore, create, and connect with nature through hands-on activities that spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture creativity in the open air.
Special Bonus!
On select days, stay for our Community Music & Art, a joyful way to wrap up the day with singing, rhythm play, and imaginative art projects inspired by the natural world. Parents are warmly invited to join in, turning each Tuesday into a shared family adventure in learning and wonder.
