Falling into Autumn
We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with The Farm at Cabbage Hill, where our For the People and Kids Learning Garden is growing!
This fall, children will gather three times a week for hands-on exploration combining gardening, culinary arts, music, and birdwatching! Guided by our dedicated team of educators, each session offers dynamic opportunities to create, build friendships, and connect with nature. To accommodate growing interest, we’ve added a Thursday afternoon session to complement our Monday and Wednesday morning schedule. Register for Fall Kids Learning Garden
🌾 DIG Farm Fall Homeschool Program
Sept. 8–Oct. 30, Tuesdays & Fridays, 10AM – 1PM
Join us for a consistent, nature-based fall rhythm at DIG Farm, where children ages 2+ up, learn through hands-on exploration, discovery, and seasonal connection. Across three daily classes on Tuesdays and Fridays, 10 AM–1 PM, children will explore gardening, harvesting, culinary arts, mindfulness, Rewilding, and our new Bird Explorers program.
This fall, we’re excited to introduce our new Membership Program, created to help families keep their children’s learning experience consecutive and consistent throughout the 8-week season, while offering families a savings compared with registering for individual classes or days.
As the season changes, we’ll harvest, explore, learn, and work together to prepare the garden for winter.

Family Saturdays at the Farm at Cabbage Hill
Every other Saturdays, beginning, Sept. 12 – Nov., 7, 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM, we will offer two programs simultaneously from 9:30–10:30 AM, followed by a Family Workshop from 10:30-11:30AM. Providing families with children of different ages the flexibility to choose the experience that works best for them:
Family Garden | Ages 2+
Hands-on gardening and seasonal exploration for young children and their grown-ups.
Junior Birders Club | Ages 7+
Led by Susan, with a focus on bird observation, identification, and nature exploration.
Family Saturday Workshops
Every Other Saturday | 10:30–11:30 AM
Keep the family fun going! Join us every other Saturday for a series of hands-on, creative family workshops designed to inspire connection, imagination, and exploration. Each workshop is led by a different educator, bringing their own unique experience and creative approach to the farm.
9/12: Find the Rainbow: Explore color, nature, and creativity in this joyful family experience.
9/26: Dream & Bloom: Family Vision Boards: Dream big and create together as a family through vision, art, and imagination.
10/10: Be Here Now: A Journey Through Senses: Slow down, tune in, and discover the natural world through your senses.
10/24: Tie – Dye Adventure: Get creative with color and design your own one-of-a-kind tie-dye creation.
Each workshop is a separate program with its own registration and fee.

Growing Minds at MKES

We’re excited to share that For the People and Kids has been selected to participate in ArtsWestchester’s 2026 Art$WChallenge!
From August 13–December 15, eligible donations to FTPK can be matched up to $3,000 in total matching funds, helping your gift go twice as far.
Your support helps us provide children and families with meaningful opportunities to learn, create, explore, and connectthrough outdoor education, sustainability, the arts, and hands-on learning.
Junior Birders Club
Every other Saturday; 9/12-11/7
9:30AM – 10:30AM
The Junior Birders Club introduces the fundamentals of birding and basic bird science through age-appropriate lessons and activities designed for kids ages 7 and up.
Young learners will build bird identification skills while exploring behavior, habitats, and adaptations. Each session includes a chance to put these skills into practice through hands-on birding and a short, guided hike.
